Nursing on Demand provides Companion Care services for those who require no “hands on” personal care, but still want to remain independent in their home. Companion care services such as social interaction and activities, transportation to appointments, and assistance with everyday home tasks help to promote independence and overall quality of life. This list is flexible and adaptable to each individual. The goal is to keep life feeling “normal” with as much freedom as possible, while making sure basic needs are met that may otherwise be challenging. This can include:
- Socialization – Engaging in activities such as reading, conversation, board games, movies, TV viewing, and other appropriate light physical activities.
- Transportation – Assistance in getting to and from appointments, meals, movies and shows. Grocery runs, workout activities, scheduled medical appointments and many other destinations are easier to deal with when the transportation to and from is provided.
- Home Management – Light cleaning, changing linens, laundry, washing dishes, trash removal and watering plants can be difficult as a loved on ages. Cleaning up after pets and keeping dust at a minimum can improve overall sanitary conditions as well.
- Meal Preparation – Purchase of groceries, planning snacks and meals, and following dietary guidelines suggested by physicians is easier with a helping hand. If a loved one struggles with balance and precision, having help with cutlery and knives is always beneficial.
- Pet Management – Going on short walks with pets, helping ensure their conditions are sanitary and aiding in clean-up ensure that a loved ones pets aren’t suffering as time passes.
